Over the years, the word accreditation, as used by those involved in higher education, has acquired various interpretations indicating that some outside body of educators have examined a school and found it to be doctrinally, academically,  and financially reliable, and has certified that it meets their ethical standards. The purpose is to simply assure the public that the school is a reputable establishment.

WPWBC is accredited under the World-Wide Accreditation Commission of Christian Educational Institutions of Richmond, Virginia as an affiliated school of The Mid-Hudson Bible Institute of Poughkeepsie, New York, which was founded by the late Bishop James E. Hunt in 1969. Both the W.P. Wiggins Bible College and the Mid-Hudson Bible Institute has its foundational teachings in line with that of the O.M. Kelley Bible Institute of Brooklyn, New York, which was conceived under the auspices of the Church of God in Christ.
